My husband finds me to look pretty scary on my self-care nights, think dyed eyebrows, teeth whitening strips, and hair and face masks. lol. So I thought, why not make a spooky self-care girls night out of it?
The Halloween season is full of excitement and creativity. A spooky self-care night can be a fun and enjoyable way to prioritize mental and emotional well-being while having a great time with your friends!

Embrace Spooky Self-Care:
Halloween is another time during the year when we tend to put a major focus on our children. Making sure they have their costumes prepared, and all of their events are prioritized and scheduled.
Planning a spooky self-care event is another way we can take a little time to take care of oneself, while enjoying some much needed bestie time. Especially during the festive but often hectic Halloween season.
Here Is a List of Some Spooky Self-Care Ideas:
- Listen to Halloween themed guided meditation or podcasts
- Spooky Skincare: Apply Halloween themed sheet masks or pumpkin scented clay masks
- Try some spooky style yoga on YouTube
- Set the mood with dispersing pumpkin and cinnamon essential oils in a diffuser. Or see my other post regarding Autumn Aromatherapy
- Do each others witchy nails
- Practice giving each other hand massages with herbal lotion
- Make tiny lip scrubs that your guests can take home, or apply pumpkin lip masks while meditating
- Go around and let each person share their biggest fears, and provide comfort and guidance or even just relate
- Create spooky cocktails together or sip on some herbal tea
- Give everyone a piece of paper or a small journal, and have them write down some goals or intentions for the season. Ask them to share with the group if they are comfortable.
Mindfulness and Spooky Self-Care
Discuss with your friends, the role of mindfulness and staying present while engaging in spooky self-care activities. Urge them to stay present and even ask for phones to be on silent, if possible.
Encourage your guests to savor the moment and enjoy the experience. Even if it’s just for the mere fact that it’s a kid-free night!
Spooky Relaxation for All Ages
Maybe your friends have a jam-packed October and your spooky self-care party won’t work this year. That’s ok! You can use all of these ideas to have a spooky self-care night for yourself. Or you can enjoy it with your family!
Spooky self-care can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Obviously make sure everything is age appropriate!
It may even be a fun yearly tradition for the family to practice self-care while discussing the history behind Halloween.
Overcoming Halloween Stress
As we all know, Halloween can bring stress and anxiety for some. I still have PTSD from the time I was 10 and got my candy stolen from a big Halloween bully. Or the time my mummy costume ripped right in the butthole area at a party I was hosting.
Hosting a spooky self-care party can be a way to manage stress during this season, as well as help you to find balance.
This season is the perfect time to connect with one’s inner child and the sense of wonder and excitement that usually lacks in our day to day lives. Embrace this season, and have fun with it!

Now, you should be fully prepared and excited to host your own spooky self-care night. I’m sure it will be the talk of the town. Remember to keep it light and fun, and to remind everyone to stay present in the moment.
Sip spooky cocktails or herbal tea as you reminisce on some of your favorite Halloween memories (or funny ones like the mummy butthole).
A spooky self-care night is a perfect way to celebrate Halloween while finding joy and relaxation during this spooky season.
Remember, you deserve it and you are worthy, spooktacular mama!
