When I think of the word Autumn, all of my senses come alive. But for some reason, the most prominent sense is that of smell. Aromatherapy is a great way to create a palpable fall ambiance while uplifting spirits.

There’s nothing more comforting than my favorite blanket and a certain brands 3-wick fall and winter candles. Unfortunately, we all learned recently how toxic candles can be, and who cares about me, but we have to be cognizant of what our little ones are inhaling.
I am officially turning into an essential oil girly. I was first introduced to essential oils by my beautiful mother, who was often making concoctions for all types of ailments. I love how the different oils are meant to address a multitude of issues and how we can experiment with them to make a recipe tailored to our needs.
Essential oils are also natural and cost-effective. You can get a starter kit of all the basic essential oils you will need for less than 50$! And they will last you for almost ever!

- Cedarwood: With its earthy, grounding scent, cedarwood oil is perfect for promoting stability and relaxation.
- Frankincense: This oil is associated with spirituality and can help with grounding and meditation.
- Sweet Orange: The citrusy aroma of sweet orange oil is uplifting and can boost mood during darker days.

How to Use Essential Oils:
I love how there are a multitude of ways that essential oils can be used. Below are the several different ideas to utilize Autumn Aromatherapy.
- Diffusion: Use an essential oil diffuser to disperse the aroma throughout your space. This is the way you want to go if you are looking to replace the scent of a candle in your home.
- Topical application: Diluting essential oils with a carrier oil for massage or applying to pulse points.
- Bath: Adding a few drops of essential oil to a warm bath for a soothing soak or in a diffuser during your self-care shower.

Fall Aromatherapy Blends:
Below are some of my all time favorite curated oil blends for the autumn season:
- “By the Fireside” with cedarwood, cinnamon, and sweet orange.
- “Autumn Aroma” with lavender, patchouli, and clary sage.
- “Harvest Moon Meditation” with frankincense, cedarwood, and lavender.
Create a Relaxing Atmosphere With Aromatherapy:
Autumn aromatherapy practices will automatically make you feel relaxed, but there are some other ways to prep your space to set the mood. Remember to set the lights down low, sit comfortably wherever you may be, and grab your favorite self-growth book.
Essential oil aromatherapy can bring so many benefits, including celebrating the seasons within your home. Aromatherapy has been shown to boost mood, improve sleep and kill viruses (which hello mama, there are literally boogery germs all over our homes).
It’s important to note that while aromatherapy can offer various benefits, individual responses to essential oils may vary. Some people may have allergies or sensitivities to specific oils, so it’s crucial to perform a patch test and consult with a qualified aromatherapist or healthcare provider before using essential oils for specific health concerns. Additionally, always use essential oils as directed and avoid ingesting them without proper guidance.
I hope you have found this post helpful. If you would like to learn more about essential oils, their use, and where to start, this book was super helpful for me when starting my journey.
